We Can't Cop Cars Without Seeing Cop Cars ©2020
We Can’t Cop Cars engages the tensions of systemic limitation within Black life. Moving through the visual and symbolic language of mobility, the work interrogates what it means to navigate a world where freedom of movement is both desired and denied. The film positions Black male joy as a condition policed by social constraints. Here, motion becomes both literal and metaphorical, and the desire to possess a car becomes a lens through which to examine power, aspiration, and control.
