Call for Applications: Executive Assistant/Intern Position with Dr. Fahamu Pecou

Visual artist, Dr. Fahamu Pecou, founder of the African Diaspora Art Museum of Atlanta (ADAMA), is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Executive Assistant/Intern to join his creative team at Fahamu Pecou Art/Studio KAWO.
This is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in a thriving art studio environment while supporting innovative projects that engage the intersections of art, scholarship, and culture.
Position Overview:
The Executive Assistant/Intern will play a vital role in the day-to-day operations of Dr. Pecou’s studio practice. Responsibilities include general administrative tasks including but not limited to; email correspondence, scheduling, inventory management and file handling, project management, general project support. Additional roles include: overseeing the online shop, social media management, conducting research, and assisting with grant applications and proposals.
The position offers a monthly stipend of $750 and requires a commitment of 12-20 hours per week. This is a 12-month internship with the possibility of transitioning into a salaried role for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
• Handle administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the studio.
• Oversee the online shop, including inventory management, order processing, and responding to customer inquiries.
• Assist with social media content creation, engagement, and marketing campaigns.
• Conduct research on grants, funding opportunities, and potential partnerships.
• Assist in drafting and submitting grant applications and proposals.
• Provide support for ongoing projects, exhibitions, and studio events.
Qualifications:
• A strong interest in visual arts, particularly contemporary art and culture.
• Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
• Proficiency with digital tools and platforms, including social media and e-commerce systems.
• Strong research and writing abilities.
• Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Prior experience in arts administration, marketing, or related fields is a plus but not required.
